Here's what Alpha Unlocked is all about...

Hey there!  I'm Jason, the founder of Alpha Unlocked.

Before AU, I served as a portfolio manager for $500M+ of client capital between two liquid alternative mutual funds and a hedge fund.

(Yep. Five hundred million.)

You're probably wondering what AU is all about.  To tell you the truth, I'm not quite sure yet.

Most of my initial content will revolve around insights I wish I had discovered earlier in my trading career.  It took me a long time to breakthrough to profitability and it's my hope I can shave years off your learning curve by sharing my expertise with you.

Hopefully, a more specific direction will emerge once I've had the opportunity to uncover what aspiring traders like you find most helpful.

Biography

Jason has over two decades of experience in the industry as an independent trader, portfolio manager, and business executive.

He’s an accomplished equities and futures trader that believes the key to consistent profits over time is to trade a suite of diversified trading strategies across uncorrelated asset classes and multiple timeframes.

Jason holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Northern Arizona University and enjoys learning about personal growth and development in his free time.

Professional Highlights

  • Worked side-by-side with CEO as Senior Managing Director at a boutique investment advisor to grow the company from $10M to $500M+ in AUM during my tenure.
  • Managed stock, bond, futures and swap portfolios as Portfolio Manager for $500M+ of client capital between two liquid alternative mutual funds and a hedge fund.
  • Co-designed the investment methodology for a managed futures mutual fund which ranks in the top decile of performance on Morningstar over a 5+ year period.
  • Lead the successful launch of the third-ever (in history) “directly-managed” managed futures fund which became the firm's flagship product.

Personal Highlights

Adventurist

I took the family whitewater rafting a couple summers ago.  We were all brave enough to “ride the bull”.  A rapid crashed into the boat during my son’s turn which left him drenched.  Once he came up for air, he yelled, “Dad!  The water got my balls!”

Baseball Fanatic

My daughter once wanted to know the color of my blood.  Wasn't it obvious? "Red Sox", I replied.  I love anything baseball, but I especially love the Sox. Here’s me and my son at Fenway after the Sox took Game 1 of the World Series.

Indoor Skydiving Enthusiast

I’d become an indoor skydiving instructor in another life.  I've only flown a few times, but one day I'm going to moonwalk across the air like the pros do.  If you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend it.
